While there are those who know me by another name, my pen name is Haddassah Chaya. I'm 21, and I live on a farm. It's
not the typical dairy farm, or a crop farm. It's more like a ranch. We have 160 head of cattle. What qualifies us as
a "farm" is that we alo raise meat chickens, egg laying chickens, turkeys, and pigs. I'm not entirely sure why we bother with
anything but cattle, but the choices aren't mine to make.
I, like many others, like to listen to music. I do almost everything to music. When I'm working in the kitchen, 9 times
out of 10, I'm singing along to whatever I have playing. When I write, I'm listening to an assortment of instumental music,
or Enya. I could almost call myself eclectic, but there are some styles of "music" that I don't like.
I like honest hard work. I like to get my hands dirty, and I like to see the results of my work right away. This is why
I live on this farm. You pull a calf and there it is! You worked HARD, and there's a little cow bee-bopping around with the
rest of the herd. You feed out some bales during the winter, and the cattle eat and live. It's really nice to see instant
results of your work.
I don't want to farm for the rest of my life though. I would eventually like to get my degree and teach. Still hard work,
not as instant results, but oh well.
Let's see...I was born in Maryland. I moved to Arizona when I was 13. When I was 16, we moved to Pennsylvannia. After
graduating, at 18, I went back to AZ. After struggling with some stupid mistakes, I moved to upstate New York. I now live
with my parents on this farm that's owned by an elderly couple. My parents are the only two people here who have done anything
like this before. But, we're all learning. There will be more people coming to join within the next year or so.
I don't want to be here forever. :p I'd like to get married and move elsewhere. In spite of the impression that my man
somehow got (and neither of us are sure where he got it), I like to move. I've been doing it all my life. Aside from all the
cross-country moves, I've moved a bunch in the states I've lived in. My family, once a military family, just got used to moving.
It was all-but in our blood. Now, my parents are OVER it, and are planning on staying on this farm until they die, or the
Messiah comes back. Me, I'm not over it. I want to keep seeing more of the world. My older sister is over it. She lives on
a farm down the road with her husband and two children (with another on the way). My older brother is in the USBP, so he's
moving around whenever the restation him. He seems content with it. Not sure about my younger brother. He seems like he's
standing at a crossroad, looking at all his options carefully.
Good thing for me, my man likes to move as well. He has been in every state in the union, barring two. And one of those
two isn't Hawaii!! Lucky duck. I'd like to see most of them, though I confess some of them don't interest me in the least.
I would LOVE to go to Colorado and climb a mountain!! I'm not entirely comfortable with heights, but if what's under me is
a mountain, I think I'll be fine. I mean, I've climbed foothills. My only issue was coming back down. :p

My pride and joy. ^_^
Unfortunately, with the collapse of a few places on the barn where these
two were wintered, I had to sell them. I can go see them though. ^_^

Here's a list of my favorite things...because I can. ~_^
Movies
Terminator 2 (I know, I know, it's a little strange, but that's my
favorite movie!), Hot Fuzz (I absolutely INSIST that it's about my brothers!), Sahara, Monty Python and the Search for the
Holy Grail, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, SpaceBalls, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and The Emporer's New Groove.
Books
The Secret of Dragonhome, Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn (all three of them), The Song
of Albion (the first two), Lord of the Rings (are you really surprised?), The Pendragon Cycle (seeing a
pattern yet?), The Search for Fierra (broke the pattern!), and The Riddlemaster of Hed.
Games
Return to Castle Wolfenstein (my all-time favorite), Mechwarrior 4: Vengance (just started playing
it again after many years and I sill love it!), Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 (I have beaten both many times, and I'm
not at all sick of them yet.), Oblivion (*cries* my computer crashed when I was halfway through it! I am waiting for a new
video card before I can even play it again.), SWAT 3, Doom (the old ones), Quake 2, WarCraft 3, StarCraft, HalfLife, and Myst
3: Exile (even though I haven't beaten it yet).
